Delete your Swapglow data
Swapglow has no accounts. Your progress stays on your phone. The game sends us something only if you join the daily challenge leaderboard or turn on friend challenges, always under a name the game makes up, and that is deleted automatically. You can delete it yourself in the game straight away, or ask us to.
Delete it in the game
- Friend challenges: on the title screen, tap Friends, then Turn off (next to your handle). Your handle and any challenges waiting for you are deleted from our server straight away.
- Daily challenge leaderboard: tap Daily challenge, then Leave (next to "Playing as …"). The game stops sending your scores. Scores already on a day's leaderboard are deleted automatically 8 days after that day's last score, or sooner if you ask us (below).
- Everything on your phone (levels, stars, coins, boosters, achievements, settings), which we never receive: uninstall Swapglow, or clear its data in your phone's settings (Apps, Swapglow, Storage, Clear storage). On the web, clear the site data for swapglow.glowspur.com in your browser. (Start over, under About & backup in the game, clears your levels, stars, coins and boosters but keeps your settings.)
Do steps 1 and 2 before you uninstall: uninstalling only deletes what's on your phone.
Ask us to delete it
If you no longer have the game, or want a leaderboard score removed before it expires, email hello@glowspur.com with the subject "Delete my Swapglow data". Tell us your friend-challenge handle and the name and days shown on the leaderboard, whichever you used (the game makes these up, like "Cosmic Falcon 42", so we have no other way to find your data). We delete it within 30 days and reply to confirm.
What is deleted, what is kept, and for how long
| Information | Only if | Deleted |
|---|---|---|
| Handle (made-up name) and scrambled player number | You turned on friend challenges | When you turn them off, or automatically after 180 days unused |
| When your game last checked in (for suggested friends) | You turned on friend challenges | When you turn them off, and after 14 days without checking in |
| Challenges and results sent to you | You turned on friend challenges | When you open them or turn friend challenges off. One never opened is never shown after 14 days, and is deleted when your game next checks in, or once 14 days pass with no new challenge for you |
| Random player number, made-up name, daily scores and moves | You joined the leaderboard | Automatically 8 days after the day's last score, or sooner if you ask us |
| IP address | You connect to our server | Never stored: held in the server's memory only, to stop floods of requests |
| Progress, coins, achievements, settings | Never sent to us | On your phone, when you start over, clear its data or uninstall |
| What you bought, and Google's receipt code for it | You bought something in the Android app (never sent to us) | On your phone, when you clear its data or uninstall. Google Play keeps its own record of the purchase, under its policy |
| Advertising ID, device details and how an advert went | You chose to watch an advert in the Android app (sent to Google, never to us) | Kept by Google under its policy. Reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings (Privacy, Ads) |
Nothing else is kept: there are no accounts and no analytics. We can't delete what Google holds about adverts or purchases, because we never receive it; Google's own settings and policies cover it. More in our privacy policy.
