Glowspur Your privacy

This policy explains what information Glowspur Studio ("we", "us") handles, and why. It covers:
- Swapglow, our match-three puzzle game, both the Android app and the web version at swapglow.onrender.com;
- this website, glowspur.com.
When we release another game or app, we'll add it here before it comes out.
In short: Swapglow keeps your progress on your own device. There are no accounts, no adverts, no analytics or tracking, and nothing to buy with real money. The only thing it ever sends us is your daily challenge score, and only if you choose to join the leaderboard. Even then it's under a made-up name, and it's deleted automatically after about a week.
What stays on your device
Your levels, stars, scores, coins, boosters, achievements and settings are saved in the app's own storage on your phone (or, on the web, in your browser's storage for the Swapglow site). They are not sent to us, and we can't see them. The backup code on Swapglow's About screen is made on your device and only goes where you paste it.
The daily leaderboard (optional)
Swapglow's daily challenge has a shared leaderboard. The game asks before you join, and sends nothing until you tap Join. After you join, it sends our leaderboard server:
- a random player number, made on your device. It isn't linked to your name, phone, or any account, and the server never shows it to anyone;
- a made-up display name, two words and a number (like "Cosmic Falcon 42"), picked by the game from a fixed list. You can't type your own, so no personal details end up on the board. You can get a new one at any time;
- your best score for the day and the moves you made, so the server can replay the game and check the score is real.
Each day's leaderboard is deleted automatically after 8 days. You can leave the leaderboard at any time from the daily challenge screen; nothing more is sent after that.
Information that any connection shares
When your device connects to a website or server, it shares its IP address, as it does with every site you visit. When the game sends a score, our leaderboard server counts how many scores came from that address in the last minute, to stop anyone flooding it. That count is kept in the server's memory only: it's never written to disk or to the leaderboard, and it's gone when the server restarts, which it does whenever it sleeps after being idle. Our websites and the leaderboard are hosted by Render, which may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses, times and pages requested) to run and secure its service, under its own privacy policy.
The Android app is downloaded from GitHub, and Swapglow's download page asks GitHub which version is newest. Those requests are covered by GitHub's privacy statement.

What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-in, and we don't ask for your name, email or age.
- No adverts, no advertising IDs, no analytics, and no tracking across apps or websites.
- No purchases with real money. Coins are earned by playing.
- We don't access your location, contacts, photos, files, camera or microphone.
- We don't sell or share personal information with anyone.
Android permissions
- Internet, for the optional daily leaderboard.
- Vibrate, for the little buzz on matches. You can switch it off in the game's settings.
Children
Swapglow doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children. The leaderboard takes no personal details: its names are made up by the game, and players can't type their own.
Your choices
- Don't join the leaderboard, or leave it at any time from the daily challenge screen.
- Delete your data from your device by clearing Swapglow's app data or uninstalling it (or, on the web, by clearing the site's data in your browser).
- Remove a leaderboard entry sooner by emailing us the day and the name shown on the board. Otherwise it's deleted automatically after 8 days.
Security
Everything the game sends travels over encrypted HTTPS connections. The leaderboard replays every score's moves before keeping it, so made-up scores can't get onto the board.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect or how we use it changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
